3. Älä tyrkytä itseäsi.
Ruikuttamisen kautta saatu keikkabookkaus on yhtä tyhjän kanssa. Haluat, että sinut halutaan keikalle. Se on vähintään yhtä arvokasta kuin itse keikka. Jos promoottori kuulee sinusta jonkun muun kuin itsesi, parhaan kaverisi tai äitisi kautta, olet vahvoilla.
4. Treenaa.
Tee miksaus vähintään kerran kuussa. Käy keikoilla. Inspiroidu. Opi muilta. Pyri tekemään jotain paremmin kuin kukaan muu.
5. Verkostoidu.
Erityisesti niiden kanssa, jotka ovat musaurallaan samassa tilanteessa kuin sinä. Kolme innokasta tyyppiä saa aikaan, jakaa ideoita, näkyy ja kuuluu paremmin kuin yksi. Tue muiden menestystä, se ei ole sinulta lainkaan pois.
6. Opettele tekemään musiikkia.
Omat biisit ovat merkittävin tie eteenpäin. Tee biisisi valmiiksi, älä jää nyhräämään. Luonnostele biisi-ideoita niin usein kuin mahdollista. Kaikki ovat paskoja aluksi. Iso osa todella pitkään. Tee itse oma musiikkisi.
7. Lähetä ja jaa musiikkiasi.
Liitä mukaan tietoa kuka olet ja mitä olet tehnyt. Älä kärtä palautetta biiseistä tai miksauksista. Spontaanisti saatu palaute kertoo, että musiikkisi on todella hyvää. Jos palautetta ei tule, se ei todennäköisesti ole. Kukaan ei rakasta musiikkiasi niin paljon kuin sinä itse.
8. Järjestä tapahtumia.
Se on paras tapa saada keikkaa, yleisöä ja oppia järjetön määrä uusia asioita budjetoinnista äänitekniikkaan. Samalla pidät yllä kulttuuria, jonka osana haluat itse olla.
9. Löydä oma promokanavasi.
Facebook-sivu on vain yksi kanava, jonka näkyvyys on laskenut vuosi toisensa jälkeen. Tubettaminen. Podcastit. Spotify-listat. Oma web-sivu. Mahdollisuuksia on loputtomasti. Löydä sinulle tärkein ja sitoudu tekemään sitä aktiivisesti seuraavat 3-5 vuotta, ei vain pari seuraavaa kuukautta.
10. Ole kärsivällinen.
90-luvun puolessa välissä suurin haaveni oli päästä keikalle Tullikamarin Pakkahuoneelle. Haave toteutui 19 vuotta myöhemmin. Menestys ei tule yhdessä yössä. Tai jos tulee, se myös katoaa yhtä nopeasti. Mihinkään ei ole kiire. Parhaat jutut tapahtuvat 15 uravuoden ylityttyä.

WEEKENDIN PRIORITY-LIPUT JAOSSA
Perjantaina 28.7. meikäläinen palaa neljän viikon radiolomilta. Lomien aikana on YleX:llä tarjoiltu kolme klassikkoradiolähetystä, houseklassikot, tranceklassikot ja oldskool-klassikot, joista kaikki löytyvät vielä hetken kuunneltavaksi Areenasta. Kurki myös biisilistat. Perjantaina 28.7. kuullaan YleX:llä Weekend-etkolähetys klo 20-22, jossa on jaossa Priority-lippuja festivaalille.
SILENT DISCO
YleX hostaa Weekendeillä kontin, johon nousee Silent Disco koko festivaalin ajaksi. Jos olet tulossa festivaaleille ja haluat soittamaan 30-60min festarisetin Silent Discoon, on siihen nyt mahdollisuus. Silent Disco yhdistetään myös suoraan radiolähetykseen, joten soittajien suorituksia kuullaan myös YleX:n festivaalilähetyksessä (kts. alla). Jos haluat soittamaan keikan Silent Discoon, nauhoita 15 minuutin DJ-setti ja lähetä se YleX:n ohjelmasivun oikeassa laidassa olevan lomakkeen kautta. DJ-settejä lähettäneiden joukosta kuratoidaan soittajakaarti Weekend Festivalin Silent Discoon. Nopeat vievät, mutta viimeinen mahdollisuus lähettää setti on keskiviikkona 2.8.
FESTIVAALIRADIO
YleX tekee radiolähetystä Weekend Festivalilta perjantaina ja lauantaina klo 17-24. Kattaus on kokonaisuudessaan konemusiikkia höystettynä niin kotimaisilla kuin ulkomaisillakin huippuvierailla. DJiltä kuullaan myös live-DJ -settejä, joita voi tulla seuraamaan YleX:n lähetyskontilta. Allekirjoittanut juontaa YleX:n Weekend-lähetyksiä 14 tuntia viikonlopun aikana.
DOME
Koko 14 tuntiahan on toisaalta silmänlumetta, koska hyvän radioputken katkaisee perjantaikeikka Dome-stagella. K18-stage on uusi aluevaltaus Weekendeillä ja tarjoilee ainoastaan housempaa ja teknompaa soundia koko viikonlopun ajan. Oma osuus on perjantaina klo 19-20 – tuu ihmeessä morjesteleen:) Hyvät faktat Domesta löytyy tästä videosta ja

UUDEN MUSIIKIN ILTAVUORO
Maanantaista torstaihin 24.7-27.7. meikäläinen on vetämässä YleX:n Uuden Musiikin Iltavuoroa. Tällöin tarjolla lisäfaktaa Weekend Festivalin keikoista, vieraista ja lähetyksistä sekä lisätietoa Silent Discosta. YleX:n Uuden Musiikin Iltavuoro maanantaista torstaihin klo 17-19.
