Absence of Facts helmsman Orion delivers the label’s next statement with the Crom EP. Presenting a vocabulary of raw, functional techno, this three-track offering is a masterclass in tension and stripped-down percussive elements, prioritizing hypnotic repetition and analog warmth.
The title track “Crom” establishes the EP’s intent: a locked, percussive groove that drives forward with raw intensity, built for maximum utility. “Drokk” maintains the pressure, weaving intricate, syncopated patterns over a stark, effective chassis. The narrative shifts with “Frell,” which closes the release. This is a decidedly moody, atmospheric piece, trading propulsive energy for deep, introspective textures, perfectly crafted for the final, reflective moments of a set.
With its roots firmly in the relentless techno of the ’90s, Absence of Facts presents modern analog-inspired tracks that have been handcrafted and carefully selected in Berlin, Germany.
