YleX:n perjantai-ilta rantautuu tiukasti Saksan suunnalle, kun koko kaksi tuntia mennään berliiniläisten hostaajien seurassa. Ensimmäisellä tunnilla DJ Orionin soitossa uutta musiikkia mm. Trampboatilta, Lope & Kantolalta, Joonas Hahmolta sekä Super8&Tabilta. Kakkostunnin puolestaan ottaa haltuun Berliinin oma poika Paul van Dyk. Huhtikuun puolessa välissä Helsinkiin Whiteout-tapahtumaan rantautuva Paul on juuri julkaissut uuden remix-albuminsa (R)Evolution ja antaa XmiXissä esimakua tulevasta Suomen keikastaan.

Paul van Dykin XmiXin kunniaksi startataan myös kilpailu, jossa on mahdollisuus voittaa henkilökohtainen tapaaminen herran itsensä kanssa. Paul van Dyk antaa vastaavia meet&greet-mahdollisuuksia erittäin harvoin ja kyseessä on ensimmäinen kerta, kun yli 20 vuoden uran tehnyt trancesankari ottaa vastaan backstagella suomalaisia fanejaan. Voittajille lähtee meet&greetin lisäksi myös VIP-liput Whiteout-tapahtumaan.

YleX:n perjantai-ilta soi jälleen isolla volyymillä suoraan Berliinistä. DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla käynnistetään Instagram-skaba, jossa perjantai-illan fiilistelykuvalla voi napata itselleen A-luokan hytin loppuunmyytyihin Itämeren YleXPop-kekkereihin. Soitossa jälleen täysi kattaus suomisankareita, uutta musiikkia mm. Super8&Tabilta, Tony Jaguarilta, Trampboatilta, Tom Fallilta sekä Dave Clarkelta, Matrix&Futureboundilta ja Depeche Modelta.

YleX:n viikonloppu startataan isolla kattauksella suomisoundia. DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa viimeisimmät klubirytmit mm. Something Goodilta, Super8&Tabilta, DJ Orkidealta, Tom Fallilta, Beetseekersiltä, Jason Seizuresilta, Henri Filpukselta ja Sandmanilta.

Maaliskuun perjantai-illat aloitetaan YleX:llä isoimmalla mahdollisella vaihteella. 1.3.2013 DJ Orionin XmiX-dekit ottaa haltuun maailman legendaarisimpiin elektronisen musiikin artisteihin kuuluva Fatboy Slim. Brittiherra saapuu Suomeen ensimmäistä kertaa 8.3. Espoon Serenaan Wonder Festivalille ja tarjoilee tasan viikkoa ennen tapahtumaa XmiXissä huikean tunnin setin ajankohtaisinta klubisoundia.

Fatboy Slim, kenties maailman ikonisin klubimusiikin artisti, on esittänyt hedonistisia tanssirytmejään odottamattomissa ja jännittävissä paikoissa kaikkialla: Australian Bondi Beachista igluihin, Kiinan Muurille, Ibizalle ja Yhdysvaltoihin. Helmikuun viimeiset perjantairytmit tarjoaa XmiX-debyyttinsä tekevä Milla Lehto. Suomen toiseksi parhaaksi DJksi viime vuoden Klubikyselyssä äänestetty leidi kertoo haastattelussa miltä tuntuu tehdä töitä erittäin miesvaltaisella levyjensoittoalalla ja pyöräyttää XmiXissä todella grooven selektion viimeisimpiä house- ja tech-house -hittejä.

DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla sukelletaan varsinaiseen genreviidakkoon. Tulossa musiikkia suomitrancesta Berliinin Berghain-teknoon, tuoreesta Deadmau5ista BT:n uusimpaan julkaisuun sekä viimeisimmät drum’n’bass-helmet. Ensimmäisellä tunnilla julkistetaan myös Above&Beyond-skaban valtaisan palkintopotin voittajat.

Perjantaina 15.02 vuoden 2013 ensimmäisenä ulkomaisena XmiX-vieraana nähdään Above&Beyond. Parin viikon kuluttua 2.3. Helsinkiin Super8&Tabin Empire-klubille saapuva ja trance-piireissä jo instituutioksi kasvanut Above&Beyond on maailman suosituimpia elektronisen musiikin artisteja. XmiXissä kuullaan herrojen uutta Anjunabeats Vol. 10 -kokoelmaa mukaileva loistava selektio tuoreinta trancesoundia ja haastattelussa jutustellaan kolmikon suomalaisen jäsenen, Paavo Siljamäen kanssa.

DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa tuoreet kotimaiset Trampboat, AMPR, Stone Cold, Sean Bayer ja Super8&Tab sekä vastajulkaistu Armin van Buurenin ja Artyn kimppasinkku ja Filterheadzin paluu juurilleen teknomman soundin myötä.

Orion & J.Shore – Isolatedmix 35

A Strangely Isolated Place, a website, label and online community of ambient, chill-out and downtempo music, asked us (Orion & J.Shore) to make a mix for their Isolatedmix series. Isolatedmix is like Global Underground of the chill-out scene: artists like Ulrich Schnauss, Nick Warren, Carbon Based Lifeforms and Helios have contributed their own Isolatedmixes.

The mix is now online and streamable/downloadable on Soundcloud. It includes 18 tracks – mostly Scandinavian chill-out, some unreleased tracks and some tunes made exclusively for this mix only. I’m very happy of the result. I hope you enjoy it too.

Like the massive spectrum of music in my head, Finnish brothers Orion and J.Shore usually sit at opposite ends on the music production front. Juska (Orion), grew up on the early 90′s hypnotic trance sound such as Cygnus X’s album “Hypermetrical” and Sven Väth’s “The Harlequin – The Robot And The Ballet-Dancer” and for the past five years has hosted a variety of electronic music on his National Finnish Radio show. In a vein I can very much relate to, these early 90′s records…
