Haluatko lähettää YleX:n perjantai-iltaan musiikkiasi?

Haluatko lähettää YleX:n perjantai-iltaan musiikkiasi?

Kuuden kohdan checklist:

1. Onko biisisi valmis?

Isolatedmix 35 – Orion & J.Shore

isolatedmix35 - Orion & J.Shore

A Strangely Isolated Place, a website, label and online community of ambient, chill-out and downtempo music, asked us (Orion & J.Shore) to make a mix for their Isolatedmix series. Isolatedmix is like Global Underground of the chill-out scene: artists like Ulrich Schnauss, Nick Warren, Carbon Based Lifeforms and Helios have contributed their own Isolatedmixes.

The mix is now online and streamable/downloadable on Soundcloud. It includes 18 tracks – mostly Scandinavian chill-out, some unreleased tracks and some tunes made exclusively for this mix only. I’m very happy of the result. I hope you enjoy it too.

Ryan from ASIP wrote a really nice introduction for the mix. You might want to check that out, too:

Like the massive spectrum of music in my head, Finnish brothers Orion and J.Shore usually sit at opposite ends on the music production front. Juska (Orion), grew up on the early 90′s hypnotic trance sound such as Cygnus X’s album “Hypermetrical” and Sven Väth’s “The Harlequin – The Robot And The Ballet-Dancer” and for the past five years has hosted a variety of electronic music on his National Finnish Radio show. In a vein I can very much relate to, these early 90′s records…

New Year chill-out mixes

By UncategorizedNo Comments

Berlin going 2013.

Happy New Year!

During the past weeks, there’s been several great downtempo/chill-out mixes from excellent DJs which have included our music, too. Here’s a short list. Happy listening!

Just before Xmas, Jaytech published a wonderful Winter Ambient mix which includes “The Night After”.

DJ Orkidea’s Christmas Piano mix is a great journey to some classic chill-out piano tracks and includes our “Sun” remix, too.

Another amazing mix from Jaytech with “White Birds” as the closing track.

Brilliant Spacemusic Podcast included “Architect’s Dream” on their Xmas episode.

And finally, Glass Coffee included “One Sunday” on his latest mix.

Album preview 7/11 – Slusnik Luna – Sun (Orion & J.Shore remix) (Brotherhood album OUT NOW) by Orion & J.Shore

ALBUM PREVIEW 7/11

Slusnik Luna – Sun (Orion & J.Shore remix)

J.Shore: The original chords were already so massive that we decided not to reinvent the wheel but just to make a loooong buildup for the existing theme. When recording live strings for the track, some electric guitars parts were also recorded (hello kitschy 1980’s!). They didn’t end up to the final version, but I wonder what Slusnik boys would have said about them… Listen to the clip of Sun (electric guitar edit).

Orion: We were super excited to make a remix of “Sun” and slightly disappointed when it then finally seemed that it would not end up to the official Anjunabeats release. I kept telling myself it’s no wonder – why would a trance label a release a 10 minute chill-out remix next to banging club versions of the track. Not Anjuna style at all. Therefore it was a big surprise when Allan from Anjunabeats mailed me after two weeks and asked to finish the remix asap. We got the live strings recorded über quick and thanks to very flexible and friendly attitude from both Niko from Slusnik Luna and Allan from Anjunathe track was finally added to our album, too.
