I’m really excited about this. The nice guys at DJ Mag asked me to do an official mix for their “DJ Mag presents” series. Because I’m working weekly quite radio friendly mixes for YleX, I decided to take a bit more undergroundish approach to this. Here’s a techno/house mix, which in my opinion is the best dancefloor orientated DJ mix which I’ve done in years. It’s a mixture of Helsinki’s Jack club’s sounds, the After Hours vibe and has been influenced a lot by the last 1,5 years in Berlin.

DJ Orion - 281

281 is a 4,5h chill-out mix, compiled during this autumn. It includes some of my favorite tracks from the past two years, a couple of classics and some Orion & J.Shore tracks, too. Musically, the vibe goes from ambient to downtempo and further to a bit more orchestral chill-out tunes in the end.

281 is a sequel for the “323” mix I did in late 2009. 323 was over 5h long and it’s still online in case you want to download and have a listen.

Aeroplane has left his mark on the music world through his remixes for Sebastien Tellier, Cassius and Chromeo, his own hits like ‘We Can’t Fly’ and ‘Caramellas’ and is one of the most followed tastemakers in the blogosphere. Aside from blowing up LOVE at The Circus, making people jump for joy at Flow Festival, he is repeatedly invited to headline some of the worlds leading festivals. It’s been incredible 7 years of DJ Orion’s podcast.
The first episodes were casted in October, 2005 and now it’s time for the 200th episode.

I know, some busier podcasters would have made it to the magic 200 faster than in 7 years, but as far as I know, this is probably the oldest Finnish DJ podcast which gives a perfect excuse for the lack of episodes during the first years. Who even knew in 2005 what a podcast is?

I want to give my humblest thank-yous to all of you who have been listening and downloading the music during all these years. And especially you who have subscribed to the podcast on iTunes – you’ve been keeping the podcast on Finnish iTunes Music Store’s Music Podcast TOP10 for several years already. Joining my fellow techno people on both Saturday and Sunday after parties @ Venue on 28.7. and 29.7. Hope to see you there, too. And there’s still Monday morning left for all you super endurance ravers. On Saturday morning I’ll be playing the second slot starting around 08:30 and on Sunday morning it’ll be the first slot starting at 05:00.
