After over 25 years in the business, Orion is still one of the key figures in Finnish electronic music. With releases on Mord, H-Productions, Suara, Illegal Alien, Mindtrip and more he also runs his own Absence of Facts imprint.

With its roots firmly in the relentless techno of the ’90s, Absence of Facts presents modern analog-inspired tracks that have been handcrafted and carefully selected in Helsinki, Finland.

Label head Orion presents three tracks of funky hardgroove-era influenced techno as the first AOF release of the year. Playful, loopy and percussive rhythms with heavy hitting 909 grooves and vocal snippets keep the tracks simplistic and functional – perfectly aligned with Absence of Facts style.

What an absolute pleasure to play at Unruled Weekend – such a wonderfully organized event and brilliant crowd. I roadtested a couple of new tunes of mine for the first time and gave the first spin to upcoming vinyl release “Cari Lekebusch & Orion – Rollback”. It’s great that the funky, groovy, edgy techno still does the trick – definitely timeless tunes.
