YleX:n perjantai-illassa kuullaan perjantaina 29.11. kahden tunnin erikoisshow. Klo 22 starttaavassa lähetyksessä DJ Orion pitää tiedotustilaisuuden, jonka sisällöstä liikkuu villejä huhuja.

Yllätyspaketin lisäksi perjantai-iltojen teknomaisteri valtaa itselleen koko kahden tunnin lähetyksen ja esittelee kuluneen syksyn biisiparhaimmiston. Kahden tunnin aikana kuullaan menneiden kuukausien parhaat tanssiraidat sekä muutama uunituore kotimainen kappale.

Out now: Orkidea – Unity (Orion & J.Shore remix)

Meidän “DJ Orion & J.Shore remix” DJ Orkidean Unitysta on viimein julkaistu.

Sen lisäksi, että omasta mielestä remix on ehdottomasti parasta mitä ollaan broidin eli J.Shoren kanssa saatu studiossa aikaan, on se samalla myös ylivoimaisesti makein ja aikaavienein musaprojekti, jossa oon ollut mukana.

Unity-remixiä varten nauhoitettiin livenä mm. kitaroita, rumpuja, puhaltimia, jousia ja pianoa; nauhoitusaikaa remiksiä varten kului studiossa jokseenkin yhtä paljon kuin koko meidän vuoden 2011 Brotherhood-albumiin yhteensä.

Version huippukohtaa n. 5:30min kohdalla viilattiin kuntoon useampi viikko, ja koko remiksiä rakennettiin pitkään ja hartaasti kahdessa studiossa Helsingissä ja Berliinissä erikseen sekä lopulta Saksan päässä yhdessä kasaten.

Pääsin kuulemaan alkuperäisen Unityn ensimmäistä kertaa livenä vuonna ’98 Hype-klubilla Helsingissä Labyrinth-bileiden etko- tai jatkoeventissä. Raitaan kiteytyi – ja kiteytyy – mulle edelleenkin koko vuosituhannen lopun tranceviba Suomessa. Se, että nyt noin 15 vuotta myöhemmin pääsee jättämään siihen samaan biisiin oman kädenjälkensä, on mielettömän hienoa ja sulkee kai jonkin sortin ympyrän. On upeeta päästä tekemään töitä sellaisen musiikin parissa, joka on kulkenut mukana fiiliksissä ja muistoissa toista vuosikymmentä.
Lisäksi valtaisa hatunnosto Orkidean suuntaan luottamuksesta päästää chill-out -musaa tekevä kaksikko työstämään remixiä miehen kansainvälisen uran startanneesta klassikosta.

Jos oot kuullut remiksin jo meidän chill-out -miksauksissa tai YouTubessa, suosittelen silti lämpimästi nappaamaan myös virallisen kopion Beatportista/iTunesista ja supporttaamaan parilla eurolla niitä lukuisia studiopäiviä ja -öitä joita tuon kanssa on vietetty. Lisäksi raita oli meidän iloksi masteroitu todella hienosti ja soundaa paaaljon paremmalta kuin 192kbps rippaukset masteroimattomasta versiosta.

Olisi myös ihan superhauskaa kuulla ajatuksia/kommentteja/fiiliksiä remiksistä, jos oot jo ehtinyt kuuntelemaan.

Ja luonnollisesti suosittelen tsekkaamaan koko Orkidean Ximer- remix-albumin, huikea showcase tän hetken Suomi-osaamisesta ja monipuolisesta ja kansainväliset standardit täyttävästä soundista, mitä tästä maasta pukkaa.

YleX:n perjantai-illan kaksi viimeistä tuntia vavisutetaan betonielementtejä uusilla monotonisilla teknorytmeillä. DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa mm. Danny Byrd, DJ Orkidea, JS16, Lovetone, Syn Cole, Something Good, Fehrplay, Joseph Capriati, Scot Project ja Lenno. Ohjelma on livelähetys Suomen Kotkasta.

XmiXin ottaa haltuun skenen erikois- ja monitoimimies Upi. Ravintola Adamsissa livenä nauhoitettu XmiX (kts. yllä) tuo viikonlopun ensimetreille valtakunnan kuumimmat houserytmit. Haastattelussa kuullaan kuulumisia niin Berliinistä, klubipromootiopuuhista ja studiolta kuin kanteleensoiton keskeltäkin.

YleX:n perjantai-illassa ihmetellään, kuinka joku 90-luvulla syntynyt voi ammentaa niin paljon 80-luvun musiikista, kun XmiX-dekkeihin tarttuu täysi-ikäisyyden saavuttanut ja vasta huikean uuden EP:n (Check!) julkaissut Lenno. YleX:n tehoksikin päätynyttä Lennon uutta musiikkia tarjoillaan kuulumisten kera tunnin XmiXissä perjantain viimeisellä tunnilla.

Ohjelman ensimmäinen tunti sukeltaa DJ Orionin johdolla suomitunnelmiin. Soitossa suomalaista Get Lucky -remiksiä Madd.Is.Onilta, tuoretta housea Kahikko&Vertigo-kaksikolta, Turismon uusi raita Joonas Hahmon labelilla, Lope&Kantolan uusi sinkku sekä Viikon Vinyylinä vanhaa Dallas Superstarsia.

Ohjelmassa jaossa myös kaksi lippua Waterland-tapahtumaan, puhelin käteen – studion numero on 09-1482822. Lisäksi parhaille #djorion-tägätyille Instagram-kuville lähtee Dallas Superstars -audioreliikkejä.
