“Tampere-fiilis” was a late 90’s phenomena in Tampere, purely born in local trance events when melodic trance was at its peak and rave culture enjoyed high popularity. I remember events like Taika ’98 in which people were dancing spontaniously hand-in-hand, club Tunnel with Coma and 3.14Sami spinning in an old, small rock club to 200+ clubbers every second Thursday, everybody going mental. I hope I haven’t become cynical when claiming that nearly a decade has passed in Tampere without any similar feeling of regular PLUR ;)

ONE has succeeded in something that felt like an impossible task a couple of years ago. It seemed that you couldn’t attract any audience without bringing bigger and bigger foreign acts even though it was just the fun and good atmosphere people were after. Saturday night at Tanssitalo, with hundreds and hundreds of people going insane and a lineup consisting of only former and current Tampere talents proved that you don’t need any foreign acts to get loose. Just a club full of your best friends and a long lost Tampere-fiilis :)

After a night like that, I can’t wait to get back to Tanssitalo. See you at the next One, on 30.5.2009.
