YleX:n perjantai-illassa soi jälleen takuuvarmasti tuore musiikki. Ensimmäisen tunnin kotimaista kuninkuutta edustavat Lope&Kantola, Syncom Data ja Azure Mind, ulkomaiset sekoittavat pakkaa Prydan, Jaytechin, BT:n ja Madukin voimin.

XmiXin ottaa haltuun Misc. Managementin Oded Peled. Kesällä Ääniwallin sunnuntai-illoista Lontoon Ministry of Soundiin lattioita liikuttanut herra on aktivoitunut myös tuotantopuolella ja XmiX sisältääkin roppakaupalla vielä julkaisematonta soundia. Vaikka viikon aikana mentiin Etelä-Suomessakin pakkasen puolelle, palataan illan viimeisellä tunnilla vahvasti takaisin kesään.

JACK is turning 10 years old!!! Since his early days in Kerma, the always fresh clubnight has given you the power to jack your body! Rosegarden, Kuudes Linja, Playground, YK and now Venue have seen crowd attendance records broken again and again. And these parties weren’t only attended, they rocked the venues upside down.

Tens of different international guest DJ’s visited JACK. Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Matthew Dekay and Ian Ossia to name but only a few. For this very special night, we are glad, excited and honored to have the undisputed king of Nu Disco come and play a set that will take us to the true roots of House music. Aeroplane has left his mark on the music world through his remixes for Sebastien Tellier, Cassius and Chromeo, his own hits like ‘We Can’t Fly’ and ‘Caramellas’ and is one of the most followed tastemakers in the blogosphere. Aside from blowing up LOVE at The Circus, making people jump for joy at Flow Festival, he is repeatedly invited to headline some of the worlds leading festivals. Joining him is an allstar line up of JACK residents, Orkidea, Mr.A, Orion and Oded Peled.

This weekend: Orkidea’s Album Release Tour in Seinäjoki & Lahti

Orkidea - "20" Album Release Tour

I’m super happy to jump on the plane and join DJ Orkidea’s Album Release Tour this weekend. On Friday it’s Seinäjoki time – the latest parties at Karma have been nothing but amazing: sold-out venue, brilliant crowd and Pohojammaa-vibe which is non-describable (because afterwards you don’t remember a thing). Lahti, the Chicago of Finland is up on Saturday and equally exciting. I’ll be closing the night after Orkidea’s performance so the music should go to a pretty uplifting direction this time. Can’t wait!

And yes – you can buy Orion & J.Shore’s new album “Brotherhood” both in Seinäjoki and Lahti. It’s out on Friday so you’ll be among the very first to get a copy. Besides, I have a feeling that a chill-out record will be handy after these tour nights ;)

Massive respect to Orkidea, big thumbs up for his new album and making it possible for us to join “20” tour.

YleX:n marraskuun perjantai-illat pamautetaan käyntiin Berliinistä käsin isolla kattauksella uusinta klubisoundia. DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa tuore remix Coldplayn Paradise-hitistä, uutta musiikkia käsittämättömän isossa nosteessa olevalta Lennolta, Michael Cassetten tuore remix, kaksi ensisoittoa DJ Orkidean tulevalta albumilta, Viikon Vinyyli-osiossa vanhaa Pendulumia sekä tietenkin viikon Rage Against The Machine -remix.

Marraskuun XmiX-sessiot avaa hurjassa nosteessa oleva drum’n’bass -sankari Oscar, joka pyöräytti vajaan tunnin settiinsä näppärät 29 raitaa erittäin ajankohtaista junkkaa ja dubsteppiä. Puhelimen päässä lisäksi Nepalissa musiikin ja hyväntekeväisyysprojektin parissa hääräävä Oded Peled.

YleX:n lokakuun perjantai-iltojen XmiX-artistikattauksen avaa brittiläinen elektronisen musiikin pioneeri Nick Warren. Way Out West -kokoonpanossakin vaikuttava bristolilaismies on uransa aikana ennättänyt mm. Amerikan kiertueelle Massive Attackin kanssa sekä soittanut lähes tulkoon kaikissa merkittävissä klubeissa ympäri maailman. Keikkailun ja musiikintuotannon lisäksi miehellä on vielä ohessa aikaa toimia Hope Recordsin A&R -henkilönä. Suomeen 14.10. saapuvalta Nick Warrenilta kuullaan eksklusiivisesti YleX:ää varten tehty tunnin mittainen XmiX sekä haastattelu klo 23.

DJ Orionin ensimmäisellä tunnilla soitossa mm. Tilt, Camo & Krooked, Ayleon, Muffler, Kobana, Eric Prydz sekä Kings of Leon ja haastattelussa Nepaliin klubimusiikin ja hyväntekeväisyysprojektin merkeissä lähtevä Misc. Managementin Oded Peled.

Klubitus 10 years & Mixxed Discotheque this weekend

A busy weekend coming up. On Friday I’ll be playing at the ten year anniversary party of a local club related website Klubitus. For years Klubitus has been #1 information provider in Finland for anyone interested in club scene and its birthday is not only a gathering of like-minded people but also a get-together of DJs who normally don’t play at the same event. Legendary Art of Trance will be headlining. An eclectic and interesting night coming up.

On Saturday I’ll head to Bio Rex terrace to probably the best regular summer club event in Helsinki. Mixxed Discotheque has been running for some years now – every summer Saturday hosted by Tony Profondo and Niko Geselle – at the heart of Helsinki with really really nice views and happy atmosphere. Usually there are some queues, not a bad decision to come early – the party starts already at 19:00 and the terrace closes at 02:00. I’ll start my 1,5hours at 23:15 and Kimmo O, Aslak and the residents Tony and Niko take care of the rest.

MiscBehaving and One this weekend

As I’m not in Finland on the New Year’s Eve, I consider this weekend the end-of-the-year party. And what a weekend it is! Starting on Friday, the Misc. Management organized event Extremely Miscbehaving takes over Virgin Oil. The night is hosted by DJ Orkidea, Mr.A warms up the floor and the foreign guests include Redanka, the very strong, oldskool and classic progressive talent and SolarStone, the man behind various excellent trance tunes.

On Saturday, SolarStone, Orkidea and me head to Tampere. It’s the season closing night for the local club One, which has grown to be one of the strongest club brands in the area. Flight and Uzu, the guys behind the club have been putting an enormous amount of time and thoughts for the concept and I’ve been happy to see a glimpse of the original Tampere-fiilis and easy-going and happy people always attending.  The opening party was truly memorable and getting Jaytech to play in Tampere was one of my personal highlights of the past autumn. Can’t wait for this Saturday and the upcoming season… :)

Tiistain Tanssi-illan biisivieraana 2.9.2008 kuullaan Suomen vanhimman DJ-bookkaustoimisto Misc. Managementin isäntää, Oded Pelediä. Odedin valitseman biisin lisäksi kuullaan herran itsensä että Misc. Managementin kuulumiset sekä hieman tunnelmointia, millaista on pyörittää DJ-bookkaustoimistoa Suomessa täyspäiväisesti.

Biisivierasosuuden lisäksi Tiistain Tanssi-illassa DJ Proteuksen puhelinhaastattelu miehen debyyttialbumin julkaisun jälkimainingeissa. Haastattelun lisäksi kuullaan otteita uudelta For Those Who Understand The Nature Of The Beast -albumilta.
